Volunteer With US

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help us support our families and programs! Whether you have a few hours to spare each week or just want to help out occasionally, there’s a place for you.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities for you to get involved with, based on your interests and availability

  • Our Resource Boutiques provide essential items to those in need, and we could use help restocking supplies, taking inventory, and packing hygiene kits and backpacks. This opportunity is available three days a week and is a great way to have a hands-on impact. If you can do one or more days, we appreciate the help!

  • Donation Sorting - As donations come in, we need helping hands to sort through them, ensuring everything meets our criteria for our resource boutiques. This takes place at our donation center in Bay City, and we need volunteers three days a week. Whether you can come regularly or just now and then, your support makes a big difference!

Organizing Donations - With the volume of donations we receive, especially during the holiday season and spring, we sometimes need extra help organizing everything. If you enjoy creating order out of chaos, this is a great way to lend a hand during our busiest times!

  • A clean, welcoming space is so important for the families we serve. We need volunteers to help keep our Bay City headquarters and Midland Outpost looking their best. Whether you prefer working behind the scenes or as part of a team, we’d love to have you join us!

  • Want to volunteer from the comfort of your home? Our PALS program is a wonderful way to brighten a foster child’s day by writing birthday, encouragement, and holiday cards to youth in residential care across the state. This is a flexible opportunity that helps fight loneliness and spreads kindness when it’s needed most.

In addition to supporting foster youth, writing cards to foster care workers or foster parents can have a profound impact. These caregivers often navigate immense challenges, and a simple message of appreciation can remind them that their hard work and dedication are seen and valued.

  • We host a variety of events throughout the year—fundraisers, awareness campaigns, packing events, and more—and we need volunteers to help make them a success! These are perfect for those who want to get involved but can’t commit to a regular schedule. We always provide plenty of notice, so you can plan ahead!

  • Every now and then, we have unique projects that require extra hands. These might include preparing for events, creating posters and cards for foster care workers during National Hospitality Week, or working on projects at our center. We do our best to give advance notice so volunteers can plan their time accordingly.
